Pulmonary care
Pulmonary care provides treatment for lung and respiratory conditions, including asthma, bronchitis, certain allergies and chest wall conditions.
Pulmonary medicine and care in Florida
Breathing is one of those things we tend to take for granted until we aren't able to do it as well as we need to.
Coughing, wheezing, being unable to take a deep breath — none of these symptoms of lung problems are "minor." Which is why we take them just as seriously whether they are momentary or ongoing. HCA Florida Physicians' pulmonary doctors carefully and thoroughly examine your lungs and listen to all of your concerns. They will take the time to get a complete picture of your health so they can develop the most effective treatment plan.

Lung diagnostics we offer
There are many in-office procedures we can do to quickly check certain aspects of your lung health. There are also more involved or hospital-based tactics we need to do if we need more information. Either way, we will do everything we can to be sure we understand exactly what's going on with your lungs. Some lung diagnostics we offer include:
- Bronchoscopies
- Chest X-rays, ultrasounds and other imaging techniques
- Thoracoscopies

Sleep disorders and lung conditions
Sleep and breathing have what you might call a "complicated relationship." When one isn't going well or working properly, the other isn't either.
That's why we offer treatment plans that address not only pulmonary issues, but underlying or related sleep disorders as well. We will work closely with your sleep specialist to be sure we're aligning our approach and offering you comprehensive care.
Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)
One of the specialty treatments we offer for lung conditions is VATS. This surgery is performed only by highly trained pulmonary surgeons. They use tiny incisions through which they insert a small camera and tools to complete the procedure. This method allows you to have certain surgeries with faster recovery times and less scarring.
Doctors who treat lung conditions
Among our teams that treat lung diseases and disorders you will find:
- Cardiothoracic surgeons

- Respiratory specialists
These specialists will work as one team with your internal or family medicine doctor or other primary care physician. They will ensure not just your lungs but your whole person is properly cared for.
